Thinking about getting a little creative for the holiday season? I might be able to help, since I've stumbled upon some really adorable DIY gift tags!

I've always struggled with wrapping gifts. It's just something I've accepted...it's really not my forte. I usually (somehow) manage not to make a lumpy-looking present by dressing the package up with ribbons and decorations. This year, I've decided to really personalize each gift with a pretty tag - maybe it will be enough to pull a friend's attention away from a small tear in the corner? Oops!

Tying the Knot loves DIY projects, and while it's not completely DIY, these are just too adorable and clever to pass up on. Below I have here a small collection of beautiful, printable tags. If you find yourself some nice cardstock paper to print on (and some extra ink!), this would be a fantastic idea to dress up a present!

Today we have Luminaria Photography in the spotlight! We spoke with Michelle Macirella, the owner, a fabulous Portrait Photographer who's a photo pro. She specializes in Wedding Photography as well as Lifestyle & Studio Portraits for Families, Newborns, and Pets.

She is currently the Photo Editor/Contributing Writer for Pup Culture Magazine and a Contributing Photographer/Writer for Lake Affect Magazine. In addition, she does Head Shots, Commercial Pet photography and Product photography for businesses and artists. Michelle is also available for freelance assignment/editorial work.

Here's a little bit about Michelle and her fantastic work - scroll down to take a look!

What initially interested you into photography?

I've been in love with taking photographs since I was a kid. Around 8 years old I got my first camera. When I was young I think I just really liked the idea of being able to capture everything I saw and experienced and wanted to remember. As I got older it was that reason along with the challenge of getting a really good photo and helping others preserve their memories.

How long have you been professionally shooting?

5 years

What was your favorite wedding to work on?

That is a hard question because as a photographer you build a relationship with the couple and are invested in helping to make their wedding day a success. It would be hard to choose one because I feel connected to all of them and each wedding has been so different and beautiful to capture.

What is your photographic style - traditional, photojournalistic, etc.?

I think of my wedding photography style as a mix of modern, traditional and photojournalistic. I will always do a few "semi-posed" set ups where I give a little direction to set something up, but then let people do what they want so I can capture them more naturally. That's mostly with the family photos and the time I have with the couple and their wedding party. The rest of the day is much more photojournalistic.

Do you shoot in mostly color, black and white, or both?

I always shoot everything in color and then will change certain photos to black and white in post processing.

What is your camera/weapon of choice?

I use professional Canon equipment: cameras, lenses and flash. Right now I have a 7D and a 40D, but am looking forward to the soon-to-be-released 6D which we will be adding to our camera family.

Film or Digital?

I shoot everything in digital now. Like many photographers I learned with and used film for a long time, but switched to digital about 7 or 8 years ago. I will always like film and how it looks, but as a professional I can do so much more with digital.

If you could work along side any one photographer who would it be?

There are a lot of talented wedding photographers out there, who I'm sure I would love to work alongside with and learn from, but one of my favorite photographers I would jump at the chance to work with is Zack Arias. He's not a wedding photographer, but an amazing portrait, editorial and commercial photographer who I really admire. He has a series of workshops and instructional dvds on how to use light that I learned so much from. His vision, style and the way he works are really inspiring.

Do you have any advice for brides looking for photographers?

Try not to choose your photographer solely based on money and always go with a professional photographer as opposed to a friend with an expensive camera who says they will shoot your wedding for free. I remember what it was like when I was planning my own wedding and how many expenses there are. I was trying to cut costs wherever I could, but my wedding photography was never an option to cut costs on. I'm not saying you need to book a photographer who's thousands of dollars out of your budget, but don't let a few hundred dollars difference lead you to a choice you'll regret. When this one single day that you've been planning for over a year (and for many women their whole lives) is over, the only major tangible thing you and your family will have left to preserve and remember that day are your wedding photos.

The other factor to consider is finding a photographer you click with and enjoy being around. You want to find someone whose package, style and vision for your wedding day fits with yours, but if you can't stand their personality you should keep looking. They're going to be with you ALL day during your wedding helping to guide you throughout the day. And you're going to have a relationship withyour wedding photographer for at least 6 months or more from the time you first meet with them through several months after your wedding.
